Resort Broadband, LLC, Steamboat Springs? largest locally owned Internet Service Provider, today announced the acquisition of VailNet/ColoradoNet, Eagle and Summit County?s leading local provider of high speed Internet, e-mail, web-hosting and portal media services. The purchase which closed on January 1st, 2012 adds over three thousand new customers to Resort Broadband?s rapidly growing customer base.
According to Resort Broadband President Evan Biagi, the purchase is the most recent investment in a decade-long commitment to being at the forefront of Internet connectivity in Colorado. Since its inception in 2001 Resort Broadband has continually invested in cutting edge technology for its customers. Biagi stated, ?We enjoy the challenge of being on the leading edge of technology and the excitement of delivering new services to our customers.? He continued, ?The addition of VailNet?s assets will allow us to continue this trend, and diversify our customer base. Resort Broadband plans to continue developing the VailNet/ColoradoNet services throughout Eagle and Summit Counties, and supporting its existing customer base. Existing customers will retain the desirable vail.net and colorado.net email addresses.
In addition to the Internet Service Provider (ISP) operations, Resort Broadband has also acquired the online media components of the vail.net and colorado.net websites. These sites represent an online visitor?s guide to the Vail and Beaver Creek areas. The success of the vail.net domain has been apparent since the site was originally launched over 15 years ago. ?This advertising based component of the company is a unique opportunity to reach many thousands of visitors and to drive revenue to local businesses.
